Faculty of Medicine

The Faculty of Medicine is a thriving, modern, and most significant unit of the Jagiellonian University – Collegium Medicum, boasting excellent research and teaching staff. The high level of education at the faculty has been confirmed by awarding the scientific category A in the classification of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the prestigious status of the National Scientific Leading Center KNOW in a scientific consortium with the Institute of Pharmacology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Kraków. The oldest medical Faculty of the Jagiellonian University offers three fields of study: medicine, medicine and dentistry, and dietetics, for many years, these fields of studies conducted at the faculty lead in rankings prepared by the Education Foundation “Perspektywy” and talented students win the prestigious Diamond Grant program. The Faculty also provides education within the Medical School for Foreigners of the Faculty of Medicine, Jagiellonian University Medical College, which offers two medical study programs in which teaching is conducted only in English.

Centuries of tradition, experience and responsibility in learning about knowledge and undergraduate and postgraduate education help the Faculty meet the challenges of 21st-century medicine. The research conducted at the Faculty of Medicine is of a high standard, as evidenced by its results in international journals. Units of the Faculty of Medicine of the Jagiellonian University – Collegium Medicum have actively participated in the Framework Programs of the European Union from the very beginning.
