Student’s life

Time spent at the university is not all about education and class participation; it is also an excellent opportunity to develop hobbies and interests. Many research societies and student organizations operate at the Jagiellonian University, including faculty- and university-wide ones. These societies allow students to spend their free time actively, gain knowledge, develop their talents, participate in engaging, unconventional projects, go on research and team-building trips, participate in conferences, and meet fellow students outside the lecture halls. There are many research societies working at the Faculty of International and Political Studies, f. e. Latin American Studies Academic Circle.

Students interested in the international dimension of studying can participate in a wide variety of exchange programmes, such as Erasmus+, CEEPUS, Utrecht Network, exchange programmes in USA and Canada, bilateral exchange programmes, European university Una Europa, or the domestic mobility programme called MOST.

More than just studies

From our students

Magda
I am glad that I have learned so much about pre-Colombian cultures (which, contrary to popular belief, do not include only Incas, Mayas, and Aztecs), Latin American religions, and social movements.

What alumni say about us

Alumni stories: Izabela Wilkosz Alumni stories: Izabela Wilkosz
– What is your best memory of studying at the Jagiellonian University?
– Lectures by Marzena Chrobak on pre-Columbian cultures – it was thanks to them and her support that I discovered this passion in myself, which many years later produced my doctoral dissertation on the Aztecs and a series of seminars for students. The lectures were fascinating and extremely engaging, and it was then that I decided that I wanted to work as a scientist and make a career in Latin America.
