Programme description
There is a high demand for economics and finance specialists in the modern labour market. There is a wide range of jobs in banking, corporate finance, various aspects of the functioning of financial markets, and public finance. Candidates are expected to have an excellent knowledge of the theoretical conditions of the functioning of the modern financial need and a practical understanding of various aspects of the functioning of this market. Employees (graduates) entering the labour market must know the current situation and processes at a given time. Finance, Banking, Insurance meet these needs.
The most crucial education modules are enterprise finance, finance at the national economy level and international finance. Among the specialist issues, the course offers content in banking, public finance, insurance market, the functioning of the capital market and international finance. A separate group are mathematical modules, providing knowledge and a broad spectrum of tools for conducting analyses and research based on social sciences in economics and finance. These include mathematics, statistics, descriptive statistics, mathematical statistics, probability calculus and econometrics.
Information regarding Faculty
The Faculty of Management and Social Communication has the category A granted by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and outstanding rating awarded by the Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA). The variety of study programmes conducted by the Faculty makes this unit one of the best interdisciplinary faculties of the Jagiellonian University.
The premises of the Faculty of Management and Social Communication are located on the territory of the Campus of the 600th Anniversary of the JU Revival. The Faculty is located in a modern building that consists of well equipped lecture halls, classes and computer rooms. Study programmes at the Faculty of Management and Social Communication are known for: exceptional research and didactic staff; unique fields of studies and original study programmes not available at other Polish universities; possibility to get a double degree thank to agreements with European universities; collaboration with the business sector; comfortable conditions for studying surrounded by the beautiful and green campus, UJOT TV television and UJOT.FM radio; various research societies which reflect the versatility of research conducted at the faculty and its didactic offer. The study programme is offered by the Institute of Economics, Finance and Management, which is a part of the Faculty of Management and Social Communication. Students have access to the modern library of the faculty the book collection is of which is constantly supplied with the newest books (in Polish and English).

Student’s life
Time spent at the university is not all about education and class participation; it is also an excellent opportunity to develop hobbies and interests. Many research societies and student organizations operate at the Jagiellonian University, including faculty- and university-wide ones. These societies allow students to spend their free time actively, gain knowledge, develop their talents, participate in engaging, unconventional projects, go on research and team-building trips, participate in conferences, and meet fellow students outside the lecture halls. There are many student research groups at the Faculty of Management and Social Communication, f. e. Student Research Group 'STRATEG'.

There is a very high demand for specialists in economics in finance in the modern labour market. There is a wide range of jobs in banking, corporate finance, various aspects of the functioning of financial markets, and public finance. Finance, Banking, Insurance gives an excellent specialised preparation to work in the financial market (among others in banking and financial corporations) and in other economic entities that use knowledge in finance. Graduates are prepared to work in positions related to finance, both in public administration, in private entities, as well as to conduct their own business; they can organise teamwork and make essential and intermediate decisions as part of teamwork, and effectively communicate, negotiate and convince, with fluent English.

The following events are conducted in Polish – to find out about the offer for English-speaking audience, please get in touch with the organizer directly. Additionally, due to the current pandemic, some faculty and university events may be canceled or conducted in a form other than that described below.
We invite all schools to take part in the cycle of meetings "University Closer to You – visits to the Jagiellonian University". The aim of the meetings during the tours is to familiarize students with the history of our University through a rich educational offer (lectures, workshops, laboratory classes, etc.). The current programme of the event is available on the organizer's website – the Centre for Communications and Marketing of the Jagiellonian University.
The Jagiellonian Library offers tours of both the old and new parts of the building. The tour programme includes presentations on the history of the Library and the building itself, as well as a visit to the Department of Depositories. The offer of the Collegium Maius includes lessons on "The Trail of Science" and "The Trail of History and Art," as well as interactive online classes. We also invite you to explore the educational offer of the Botanical Garden, the Nature Education Centre, the Confucius Institute, and the Museum of Anatomy.
