The Jagiellonian University of the Third Age is one of the first educational units in the country with offer aimed at seniors. The form of education in the Jagiellonian University of the Third Age resembles post diploma programmes. 50+ students gain knowledge in a particular area for two semesters, during weekly meetings and seminars. The education focuses on four courses: history of art, history and culture of Kraków, psychology for older adults and preventive treatment of civilisation diseases and healthy lifestyle promotion. After one year students receive a diploma that confirms their knowledge. Apart from the main field of study the Jagiellonian University of the Third Age students may chose education in a form of optional seminars.
