Programme description

India is not only one of the most populous countries in the world but also a rapidly growing economy and a key player on the international stage. Do you want to understand its cultural diversity, social dynamics, and economic challenges? The Contemporary India in Regional and Global Perspective programme, offered by the Institute of the Middle and Far East at Jagiellonian University, provides a unique opportunity to gain interdisciplinary knowledge and practical skills essential for working in an international environment.

The programme combines elements of cultural studies, social sciences, and intercultural management, offering a broad perspective on India and the entire South Asian region. Students develop practical communication and negotiation skills, learn Hindi-Urdu, and enhance their analytical and research competencies. Thanks to a flexible curriculum that incorporates modern teaching methods, including e-learning and hybrid learning, the programme can be tailored to individual needs.

Additionally, students have the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ programme, allowing them to study abroad during the so-called 'mobility window' in the fourth semester. The programme not only provides in-depth knowledge about India but also explores its relations with neighboring countries and its role in the global power structure.
