Programme description

New programme in 2026/27 academic year

Media Studies and Multimodal Communication is a Master’s programme designed for students who wish to analyse, design and use media communication in a conscious and professional way in a world dominated by new technologies and digital media. The programme combines knowledge from the social sciences and the humanities with practical preparation for work in a multimodal environment encompassing text, image, sound, video and interactive forms of communication.

The programme has a general academic and research-oriented profile, while also being strongly workshop-based and project-driven. Students develop skills in critical media analysis, working with contemporary communication tools, and creating media content tailored to different platforms and audiences. Its flexible modular structure allows students to pursue individual interests—from media education and persuasive communication to alternative forms of multimodal communication.

The programme is firmly grounded in the realities of a rapidly evolving media and communication market, addressing the challenges of an algorithmic society, artificial intelligence, disinformation and communication ethics. Thanks to modern infrastructure, cooperation with industry practitioners, and students’ active participation in research and media projects, the programme prepares graduates for responsible and creative engagement in the public sphere.
